Citizenship Washington Focus

University of Nebraska Extension in Cass, Johnson, Nemaha, Pawnee, Otoe and Richardson counties together with their respective 4-H Councils are again sponsoring a "Citizenship Washington Focus" trip from June 20 to June 28, 2008.

The highlight of this trip is a week at the National 4-H Center near Washington D.C. where 4-Hers participate in the Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF) program. The objectives of CWF are:

  • Strengthen communication, leadership and other life skills
  • Understand the importance of civic and social responsibilities as they relate to the development of better citizens and leaders
  • Exchange ideas, practice respect and form friendships with other youth from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience hands-on learning while having fun in the nation's Capitol City

The 2008 trip will be 10 days long via airplane with additional stops in New York City, Gettysburg and perhaps Baltimore.

Fact Sheets are available at any of the six counties in southeast Nebraska.

  • Cass, 267-2205
  • Johnson, 335-3669
  • Nemaha, 274-4755
